Buck Martin
|
Buck Martin has 25 years' experience serving the public that includes
the professional entertainment and sports industry. Most recently
Buck was the general manager at the 20,000 seat Coors Amphitheatre
since the 1999 season. From 1989 to 1999, Buck held a number of
positions at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles including Vice
President of Booking and Event Services. He was involved in all
aspects of venue management from community relations, budgeting,
marketing, event operations and bookings to negotiating contracts.
The Forum hosts an average of 230 events a year ranging from family
events to rock and roll concerts
From 1984 to 1989, Buck served as president of security division
of STAFFPRO, Inc., an event services company he co-founded and helped
expand into one of the leaders in the industry. Buck also worked
at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre as an event coordinator and in 1983
signed a professional contract with the United States Football League
and the Los Angeles Express. In addition, during the late 1970s
to late-1980s, he had the opportunity to be involved with the five
Los Angeles Lakers World Championships and the Los Angeles Kings
Stanley Cup Finals.
Since arriving in the San Diego Region, Buck has become very involved
in the community. He serves on the boards of the South Bay YMCA,
Chula Vista Medical Center and the Police Activities League (PAL).
Buck; his wife, Wendy Ann; and their two children, are Bonita residents. He maintains outside
interests in rugby, golf, triathlons, weight lifting and woodworking.
