Yes, the center has various comfortable areas to picnic.

Why do we have to take the shuttle?    
Due to the sensitivity of the wetlands and limited parking.    

Does the shuttle cost money?    
The shuttle is free but there is an admission fee into the Nature Center.    

What will I see on the trails?    
The natural wildlife that inhabits this area, refer to Feature Exhibits.    

How long are the trails?    
The trails are a combined loop of 1.5 miles.    

Is the Nature Center wheel chair accessible?    
The shuttle and the Nature Center are both wheelchair accessible.    

Can we bring food?    
Yes, many people even have picnic lunches on the back patio.    

Can the shuttle accommodate strollers?    
The shuttle will accommodate strollers and wheelchairs    

How often does the shuttle bus run?    
The shuttle runs every 10-15 minutes from the parking lot.    

Does the Nature Center give military/student discounts?

Who do I contact to assist injured wildlife?    
Please call Project Wildlife at (619) 225-9202 if you have any injured animals.    

Does the Nature Center take injured wildlife?    
The Nature Center does not take injured animals; we refer people to Project Wildlife at (619) 225-9202.    

Where does the Nature Center get its animals?    
The Nature Center only receives rehabilitated animals, that can not be released, from many sources    

Is the Nature Center open when it rains?    
Yes, the Nature Center has both outside and inside exhibits.    

Does the Nature Center have restrooms?    
Yes, the Nature Center has restrooms inside but not on the trails.    

How long does it take to go through the Nature Center?    
Allow yourself at least 1 hour to visit the Center.    

Does the Nature Center have birthday party packages?

Does the Nature Center rent the facility out?

Can you bike to the Nature Center?    
Biking is not allowed to the Center, but there is a bike rack at the parking lot.    

Does the Nature Center sell food?    
The Gift Shop offers snacks, water, and drinks. You are welcome to bring a lunch with you and enjoy it on our lunch deck.    

How far is the Nature Center from San Diego?    
From downtown San Diego approximately 10 minutes by freeway.    

Who can I call about moving nuisance wildlife?    
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, (619) 575-2704 may be able to assist, depending on the animal.
