Appearance: Light sandy color with dark spots and can grow to 22 inches

Range: Found in the flat sandy bottoms of the ocean from Monterey, California to Mazatlan, Mexico.

Diet: Crustaceans, small fishes, and cephalopods. In captivity, they eat anything from krill to diced squid.

Interesting Fact:

  • They are estimated to live 12-15 years
