The Chula Vista Nature Center offers Girl Scouts a variety of unique opportunities to earn recognitions, connect with nature and each other all while exploring local wildlife!
Daisy Petals

Go Green!
Daisies will get their feet wet exploring marsh habitats and their importance to us and our local animal neighbors. Through hands-on watershed activities, up-close animal encounters, crafts and more, they will learn that it’s cool to conserve by using resources wisely! Critter Connections
Young scouts will develop a passion for our local animal friends and meet the ones that need our help the most! Through up-close animal encounters, crafts, stories and more, Daises will develop meaningful connections to our unique local wildlife! Brownie Try-Its
Watching Wildlife Try-It
It's time to discover the ways of survival for our native San Diego wildlife! Where do they live? What do they eat? How do they protect themselves? These questions and more will be answered in this fun program full of live animals and hands-on exploration. (Completes this Try-It)
Animals Try-It
San Diego’s native wildlife comes in all shapes and sizes, and lives in many different ways. From hooting owls to slithering snakes and from swimming sea turtles to floating jellies, we have it all! As we explore local wildlife, we’ll meet some very special animals –even some that are endangered! (Completes this Try-It)
Eco-Explorer Try-It—Sea Turtle Edition
Through the life of local endangered green sea turtles, girl scouts will learn all about exploring nature, habitats, food webs and how they can help these “living dinosaurs”. After discovering these awesome reptiles, they’ll get to “become” a sea turtle and even get to meet one in an up-close encounter! (Completes this Try-It)
Water Everywhere Try-It
Come explore all the watery-life the Sweetwater Marsh and the San Diego Bay have to offer! Brownies will get their feet wet discovering how water connects us all through plankton tows, water snooping and hands-on encounters with living ocean creatures! (Completes this Try-It)

Fees:
Each program is $60
$30 paid as a deposit at registration, balance paid day-of program
Minimum 5 children and maximum 15 children per program.
Program fee is in addition to admission fees ($14 per adult, $9 per child).
Groups of 15 or more qualify for the group admissions rate with advanced registration ($11.20 per adult and $7.20 per child).

At time of registration you may choose special add-ons to enhance your scouting experience!
Additional animal encounter (adds 15 min. to the program) $25

Registration accepted by calling (619) 409-5908 or in person at the Chula Vista Nature Center, open daily 10am - 5pm.
No refunds are given for cancellations made by registrant less than 7 days prior to the program date. For cancellations made by registrant more than 7 days prior to the program date an 80% refund will be given. CVNC reserves the right to cancel any program. In the event that CVNC cancels a program, all program fees will be refunded.
